Technically Qualified Technical Direction


ReGENco provides experienced full-time Technical Directors. They average over 20 years in power generation field service and their expertise covers all of the major OEM designs. They are proficient in planning, inspecting, and overseeing repairs to the turbine, the generator, and the auxiliaries. In addition, they are backed by the complete project coordination and in-shop expediting of our Project Managers and by over 25 full-time engineers averaging 21 years of experience.

Technical Direction Makes A Difference

A Midwestern utility called on ReGENco to provide a turnkey turbine-generator outage for their 374MW cross-compound unit. Pre-outage planning began seven months in advance bringing ReGENco’s Technical Director and Project Manager together with the plant’s Outage Coordinator and Process Specialist. Having this team of experienced ReGENco and plant personnel reviewing historical data ahead of the outage was a key to the success of the project. Reviewing past outage reports and doing pre-planning reduced surprises so that most tasks were already in the schedule and in the budget. This also allowed material and parts to be ordered in advance so that they were there when needed. The caliber and professionalism of the Technical Director had a lot to do with the level of teamwork achieved. The base scope of work included the complete disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of the high speed train along with some low speed train inspections and valve work. ReGENco utilized its extensive alliance partner network to see that all inspections and repairs were completed within the 56 day outage window.
